Daji Adventures - Part II

Daji turned 11 weeks old today. The nut that he is, he decided to stay up all night and into his birthday morning, spend the day at the vet and somehow still gained weight while expelling everything he ate & drank through every orifice imaginable. Suffice it to say, "HAPPY (11 weeks) BIRTHDAY Daji!" You now know how much your mom and dad love you.

Two weeks in and the pup has been 20lbs of fun and memorable moments. Unfortunately, he got sick shortly after his 2nd vaccinations on Tuesday. The second vet Kara & I took him to (Marina Pet Hospital administered the first vaccination but will no longer be his primary vet...) doesn't think it was an allergic reaction but also couldn't rule it out. So far, Daji is responding well to his treatment (pedialite & chicken broth, intestinal anti-inflammatories, and a "no-vomit" shot) and looks like he'll be back to his "cutest puppy ever" normal self shortly. If anyone is looking for a really good veterinarian I would highly recommend Redwood Pet Clinic.

I saw this picture on the wall at Daji's new Vet. I wanted to include it here since it accurately describes our casa.

Daji Adventures - Part I

San Francisco meet Daji! Daji is our new 9 week old Rhodesian Ridgeback. RR's were originally born/used to hunt lions. With the growing lion population in SF we wanted to do our part and help keep the city safe. Daji's temperament thus far is 85% mellow (with a capital M) and 15% Scooby on Scooby Snacks.

We had our first misadventure today; Daji decided to outwit us during our first attempt to leave him home alone. We set up the kitchen to be his home while we were away from home, complete with a dog gate, toys, water, and his crate. What we didn't realize was that our little puppy was also a magician. We came home to a puppy greeting us on the couch, a dog gate seemingly untouched, and 1 destroyed sweater (Kara's). The score is Daji 1 - K&D 0. We're looking forward to all of our next adventures together!
